Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella shared his perspective on the current state of the artificial intelligence industry in an interview published on LinkedIn on September 27. The conversation, conducted by Alex Heath, focused on industry trends and the direction of AI development.
Nadella stated that the AI sector has become overly focused on abstract concepts and technical details. He noted that industry leaders are currently prioritizing the technology itself rather than addressing the practical requirements of everyday users.
The CEO emphasized that consumers are primarily interested in whether AI can provide tangible benefits, improve their economic prospects, and remain under their control. He argued that building trust with communities is essential for the long-term success of AI.
According to Nadella, celebrating technological progress for its own sake is insufficient. He urged the industry to shift its focus back to delivering real-world value and ensuring that AI tools serve the actual needs of the public.
