Danish defense firm MyDefence has launched the Wingman Edge, a wearable device designed to detect small drones. The unit operates by passively monitoring radio signals, including Wi-Fi, video transmission, and drone control links, without emitting its own radio frequency signals that could reveal the user's position.

The device features a detection range of up to 6 km, though actual performance varies based on line-of-sight and environmental radio interference. It continuously scans a frequency spectrum ranging from 200 MHz to 6 GHz. The system identifies threats by combining radio frequency identification with on-device artificial intelligence analysis.

Wingman Edge is capable of flagging unknown signals not present in existing databases. Upon detecting a threat, the device provides alerts via vibration, audio, screen notifications, or light indicators in approximately 10 seconds. The unit weighs under 1 kg, marking a 17% reduction in weight compared to the previous model.

The hardware supports data integration with tactical networks, allowing users to share detection information with other personnel, vehicles, and command systems.
