Elon Musk announced plans to rename SpaceXAI to SpaceXSI. This decision follows an executive order signed by US President Donald Trump on September 29, which mandates that federal agencies use the term Super Intelligence (SI) instead of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The change in terminology applies to all US government departments and agencies, though it does not alter the technical definition of the technology. Musk confirmed the rebranding in response to a user on X, stating that SpaceX is a super intelligence company.
The SpaceXAI brand was established earlier this year. In February 2026, SpaceX acquired xAI, integrating the Grok chatbot and the X platform into its ecosystem. In July, the company rebranded xAI to SpaceXAI, updating its logo and social media accounts accordingly.
