Elon Musk's companies, X Corp. and SpaceXAI, have officially moved to drop their antitrust lawsuit against Apple and OpenAI. The motion was filed in a Texas federal court on September 14, 2024, and subsequently approved by Judge Mark Pittman.

The original legal action, initiated in August 2025, alleged that Apple violated antitrust regulations by integrating OpenAI's ChatGPT into its Apple Intelligence features. The plaintiffs claimed this exclusive partnership unfairly favored ChatGPT over other AI developers, including the Grok chatbot created by xAI.

In their initial filing, X Corp. and SpaceXAI sought billions of dollars in damages. The companies argued that Apple's strategy restricted competition and innovation within the AI sector while limiting consumer choice. The recent motion marks a voluntary withdrawal of these claims.
