Fintech startup Mural has secured $15 million in a Series A funding round led by Tether. This investment brings the company's total funding to $28 million. The capital will support global expansion, with a specific focus on Latin America, and the development of compliance and payment infrastructure.
Founded in 2022 by former Palantir engineers Sinclair Toffa and Chris Fernandes, the company provides unified accounts for fiat and stablecoin transactions. The platform automates compliance checks and allows payments to be sent in the recipient's preferred currency. Mural recently rebranded from Mural Pay in October 2026.
Since launching its API in 2025, Mural has processed $2.1 billion in payments across 128 countries. The company reports that its 2026 payment volume is projected to reach nearly six times the total processed in 2025. Current clients include Deel, Opera, and Axexo.
Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino cited the enterprise-grade nature of Mural's software as a key driver for the investment. As part of its expansion strategy, the company plans to hire a country manager in Argentina to strengthen its local presence.
