Multicoin Capital has expanded its investment team by hiring Lucas, a former contributor to Bankless and Pods Media. The appointment was announced on October 1, 2026, exactly nine years after the firm was established in 2017.
The firm has undergone significant leadership changes throughout 2026. In February, co-founder Kyle Samani transitioned into an advisory position, stepping back from his daily operational duties at the company he started with Tushar Jain.
In March 2026, the company promoted Spencer Applebaum and Shayon Sengupta to the roles of General Partner and Co-Head of Venture. These appointments shifted the management of the firm's venture practice to new leadership.
Multicoin Capital currently manages a third venture fund, which was raised in January 2022 with a total value of $422 million. The firm also maintains investment strategies focused on public markets and digital tokens.
