MTS has introduced the Fog Play media box, a new device featuring an integrated voice-controlled AI assistant. The console connects to televisions, computers, or projectors via HDMI and supports internet access through Wi-Fi or wired connections. Users can manage the device, switch between applications, change TV channels, and receive answers to queries using voice commands.
The device utilizes a large language model for processing voice requests, with an option for users to select from several AI models, including international ones. The AI assistant allows for personalization of communication style, behavior, and functionality. Token processing for these models is handled through a convergent service linked to the console, requiring no separate subscription.
The Fog Play box integrates cloud gaming capabilities, allowing users to stream games from remote powerful computers to their screens via a gamepad. It also provides access to MTS services, such as the KION online cinema and KION Music, alongside the RuStore application store. Users can also install applications via APK files.
Authentication for the device is performed through the MTS ID system, which serves as a unified account for all MTS services. The console supports Bluetooth connectivity for peripherals, including headphones, speakers, cameras, and microphones. The original Fog Play device, launched in December 2024, focused specifically on cloud gaming with a library of over 2,000 titles.
