MSI has unveiled the MS-C9ZA, an edge AI computing box designed for local processing of artificial intelligence tasks. The device targets applications in computer vision, robotics, and smart manufacturing, eliminating the need for constant cloud connectivity to reduce latency and network load.
The system is powered by the Nvidia Jetson Orin Nano 8GB module, which features an Ampere-based GPU, a six-core Arm Cortex-A78AE processor, and 8 GB of LPDDR5 memory. The hardware is housed in a compact 126 x 96 x 74 mm chassis that functions as a passive heat sink, ensuring completely silent operation without fans.
Engineered for industrial environments, the unit operates within a temperature range of -25 to +60 degrees Celsius. It requires a 12–14 V DC power supply and includes an M.2 2280 slot with PCIe Gen4 x4 for storage. Connectivity options include two Gigabit RJ-45 ports, alongside HDMI, USB, I2C, UART, CAN, and GPIO interfaces.
