Monte Carlo Capital has secured €13 million for its second fund, which focuses on early-stage investments in DeepTech, AI, and SpaceTech. The firm previously closed its first fund in 2025 with over €11 million. Most original limited partners have returned for the second vehicle, which has already completed five investments.

Founder and Managing Partner Ian Sosso stated that the fund reached a first close of $15 million. The investment strategy remains focused on entering cap tables early, co-investing with leading venture capital firms, and supporting portfolio companies through special purpose vehicles as they scale. The firm targets startups with potential for multi-billion-dollar outcomes.

The fund primarily targets Seed-stage startups, with selective participation in pre-Seed and Series A rounds. Sectors of interest include DeepTech, AI, SpaceTech, and enterprise software. Monte Carlo Capital was established in 2009 by Ian Sosso, who previously led over 50 syndicates as an angel investor.

The current fundraising environment in Europe shows significant activity in DeepTech and AI. Recent announcements from firms such as Vanagon Ventures, Project Ventures, and Ruya Ventures, alongside larger vehicles from 360 Capital, Merantix Capital, Transition Ventures, and Elaia, total approximately €532 million in disclosed capital.
