MiniMax has released its MCode Stack as an open-source repository. The collection contains workflows, skills, and checklists used by the company's internal coding team to develop the MiniMax Code agent. The project does not include the source code of the agent itself.
The repository is accompanied by MCode Engineering Notes, which provide explanations for specific concepts that are then made executable within the stack. Current topics include subagents, tool context, memory management, and long bash command handling, with future updates planned for per-turn context tax.
The stack incorporates six engineering skills adapted from Google Engineering Practices, licensed under CC-BY 3.0. A notable feature is the independent-review skill, which isolates reviewers from the author's conversation to prevent the repetition of potential blind spots.
The MCode Stack is compatible with Claude Code via a plugin and supports local reading from specific directories. It utilizes the SKILL.md format, allowing for potential integration with other agents that support this standard. The project is designed for developers building agent harnesses.
