Investors who acquired Bitcoin between 6 and 12 months ago have significantly reduced their transfers to trading platforms. According to data from CryptoQuant, the share of moved coins sent to exchanges dropped to 4.4% in October, compared to 40.4% in mid-June.
The analysis, authored by contributor IT Tech, indicates that the total volume of Bitcoin moved by this cohort remains stable, fluctuating between approximately 143,700 and 216,500 BTC per month. Recent data shows that 205,400 BTC were moved, an increase from 157,700 BTC earlier in the season.
Despite the higher movement volume, the actual amount of Bitcoin sent to exchanges decreased from 63,800 BTC in June to 9,100 BTC in October. Many investors in this group purchased their assets near or after the 2025 price peak and currently prefer holding over profit-taking.
The report suggests that reduced inflows to exchanges may ease immediate selling pressure and potentially lower market volatility. However, the analysis warns that the lack of new buying demand remains a concern, as lower supply on exchanges does not guarantee price growth without fresh capital.
