Microsoft released Visual Studio Code version 1.141 on October 7, focusing on AI agent workflow management. The update introduces tools to clean up inactive agent sessions, including the new Chat: Open Worktree Cleanup command that allows users to view storage usage, filter by idle time, and set automated deletion policies.
The update includes safety features for Copilot agents by providing terminal sandboxing across Windows, macOS, and Linux. This mechanism restricts agent access to file systems and network resources. Additionally, the Agents window now supports a grid layout, enabling users to arrange sessions horizontally or vertically, resize them, and maintain the layout after reloading.
For enterprise users, the new version enables simultaneous login to both GitHub Enterprise Cloud and GitHub Enterprise Server within a single VS Code window. This functionality aims to simplify collaboration and code management across different enterprise instances.
