Microsoft has introduced a new citation feature for Copilot in Word to help users verify information and reduce AI hallucinations. The tool now provides direct links to original web pages or internal documents, allowing users to check the context and accuracy of the generated content.

This update aims to increase transparency by showing the exact source of the information provided by the AI. By enabling users to trace the data back to its origin, Microsoft intends to address issues where AI models might misinterpret data or generate incorrect conclusions based on outdated training sets.

Beyond the Word update, Microsoft has refined the design and functionality of Copilot Chat. The company also expanded the capabilities of the Copilot app by adding new plugins, connectors, and the Work IQ enhancement feature.

The updates extend to other applications within the Microsoft ecosystem as well. Specifically, the company has integrated new skills and connectors into Copilot for PowerPoint, further expanding the tool's utility across its office software suite.
