Microsoft has announced plans to discontinue the Copilot Themes feature in the new Outlook for Windows, macOS, and the web version. The company will phase out this AI-driven interface customization tool globally by mid-to-late October 2026.

The Copilot Themes feature allowed users to generate custom visual styles for the Outlook interface based on text prompts or preset options. Reports suggest that the decision to remove the tool stems from lower-than-expected user adoption rates since its initial release.

In addition to removing themes, Microsoft will discontinue the Wrap up your day feature, which provided users with concise summaries of their inbox content via the Copilot sidebar.

Alongside these removals, Microsoft intends to overhaul the Outlook Copilot experience in October 2026. The update will introduce a simplified, chat-centric design, featuring improvements to navigation, chat layouts, and Work IQ controls.
