Microsoft is introducing an automated spell-check feature for the new Outlook on Windows and the web. The tool, powered by Microsoft Editor, will automatically scan emails for errors before they are sent, provided the user enables the option in settings.
This functionality is part of the Microsoft 365 roadmap and requires an active internet connection and specific permissions to operate. It aims to assist users who frequently make typos or often forget to run manual checks before hitting the send button.
The rollout will occur in phases. The Targeted Release is scheduled to begin in mid-October 2026 and conclude by the end of the month. A global release will follow, starting in mid-November and expected to be fully deployed by early December.
