Microsoft has released an out-of-band emergency update for Windows 11, identified as KB5129195. The patch is being distributed automatically to all users to address critical security vulnerabilities, including privilege elevation, and to resolve specific technical bugs.

The update includes a fix for CVE-2026-62721 and addresses remote desktop connection issues. It also provides a partial resolution for USB audio problems introduced in the September update, specifically restoring 8-channel and 3D audio modes for USB Audio Class 1.0 devices.

Despite the release, several issues persist. Users still report a lack of volume control and complete audio output failure on some USB devices. Furthermore, the patch does not address problems reported by AMD Radeon GPU users, such as system freezes, driver timeouts, and black screens.

Additional unresolved issues include File Explorer crashes and failures to start. These problems are reportedly affecting enterprise environments, including Citrix UPM, FSLogix, Horizon, and ProfileUnity ProfileDisks on both Windows 11 24H2 and 25H2 versions.
