Microsoft has launched a new Copilot super-app that integrates chat, programming, and AI agent capabilities into a single interface. The company describes this tool as an AI designed specifically for work. As part of this strategy, Microsoft has merged the branding of Microsoft 365 Copilot with the main Copilot application.

The company has consolidated its social media presence by unifying its X accounts under the handle @msftcopilot. The original @Copilot account has been deactivated and its content removed. Meanwhile, the Microsoft 365 account has updated its profile to redirect users to the new unified Copilot channel for AI-related updates.

The branding history for the office software suite has seen multiple shifts. The product was renamed to Microsoft 365 in November 2022, transitioned to Microsoft 365 Copilot in January 2025, and was rebranded as Microsoft Copilot in August 2026. Despite these changes, the core subscription content remains unchanged.

The service continues to include standard components such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive, and Teams. These frequent naming adjustments have drawn criticism from users on social media, who have expressed confusion regarding the organizational structure and potential impacts on the quality of AI tools for enterprise clients.
