Microsoft has introduced an interactive canvas feature for Excel, allowing users to transform workbook data into dynamic reports through natural language prompts. These reports automatically update whenever the underlying data changes, eliminating the need for manual chart adjustments or layout reconfiguration.

Users can refine these reports by requesting specific layout changes or data highlights directly through Copilot. The feature is currently available to members of the Microsoft 365 Insiders program.

In addition, Microsoft announced the upcoming release of Skill Builder and Skill Recorder tools. Skill Builder, scheduled for an October launch, enables users to convert workflows and instructions into reusable skills via dialogue.

The Skill Recorder tool is designed for users who prefer demonstrating tasks rather than describing them. It captures actions performed in Excel and converts them into repeatable skills, with a release for Insiders planned for late October.
