Micron announced a bonus package for its global workforce of over 60,000 employees for fiscal year 2026. The company reported a cumulative net income of $50.47 billion over the last four quarters, with Q3 earnings showing a 346% year-over-year increase. Micron recorded a GAAP net income of $28.24 billion for Q3 2026 alone.
In Taiwan, employees hired on or before August 29, 2025, are eligible for a cash bonus of TWD 1 million. Manufacturing staff may receive total bonus rewards equivalent to 35 to 68 months of basic salary. Junior engineers are projected to receive an average total compensation of TWD 3.4 million, including TWD 2.9 million in cash and the remainder in equity.
The union representing 10,000 workers at Micron's Taoyuan and Taichung plants rejected the proposal. The union demands a permanent profit-sharing model allocating 15% of operating profits to employees and a one-off payment equivalent to 83 months of salary. Mediation talks on September 4 failed to reach a consensus.
A second round of mediation is scheduled for September 21, 2026. If these negotiations fail, the union intends to hold a vote on a potential strike. An internal survey indicated that 80% of union members support strike action. The company's current offer follows similar industry trends seen at Samsung and SK Hynix.
