MicroStrategy executive chairman Michael Saylor publicly expressed support for Strive, a smaller competitor that also accumulates Bitcoin. According to BitcoinTreasuries data, MicroStrategy currently holds 847,666 BTC, while Strive ranks fifth among public companies with 27,462 BTC.
Saylor argues that the success of other Bitcoin-focused issuers increases overall demand for the asset, which benefits the holdings of both firms. Both companies utilize similar financial models, raising capital from investors to acquire Bitcoin and issuing shares that provide regular income, branded as STRC by MicroStrategy and SATA by Strive.
The collaboration between the two entities includes direct investment, as Strive purchased $50 million worth of MicroStrategy’s STRC shares in March. Both companies continue to expand their reserves, with MicroStrategy recently adding 1,666 BTC and Strive acquiring 1,355 BTC on September 21.
Strive funded 85% of its latest Bitcoin purchase through the sale of SATA shares, paying an average of $85,396 per coin. While the firms aim to grow the digital credit asset class, market data from DWF Ventures indicates that only four of the top 20 crypto treasury stocks currently trade above the net value of their Bitcoin holdings.
