Michael Dell has initiated a philanthropic program involving a $6,25 billion pledge made in December 2025. The initiative provides $250 deposits to as many as 25 million children. These funds are placed into government-backed Trump Accounts, which invest in low-cost US stock market funds. Withdrawals are restricted until the beneficiaries reach the age of 18.
The program targets children under 11 years old born before 2025, residing in areas where the median family income is below $150,000. The first deposits were distributed at the end of August. While the program aims to promote financial literacy, some economists, including Darrick Hamilton, suggest that such investment vehicles may disproportionately benefit wealthier households.
Concurrently, Dell Technologies shares reached a record closing price of $588.40 on Thursday. The stock rose 4.5% in a single day and 16% over five sessions, largely driven by demand for artificial intelligence servers. Among 22 analysts tracked by TipRanks, 15 maintain a Buy rating, with an average 12-month price target of $597.53.
