MFASoft has released two new agents for its Secure Authentication Server (SAS) platform, specifically designed for Microsoft Windows environments. The MFASoft NPS Extension enables multi-factor authentication for the Microsoft Network Policy Server, while the LDAP Synchronization Agent (LSA) automates the synchronization of user accounts and groups from corporate directories.

Both agents are included in SAS version 1.15 and later. They are distributed as Microsoft Installer (.msi) packages and are compatible with Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022, and 2025. The LSA agent also supports Windows 10 and 11. To ensure system reliability, the agents can be deployed in redundant configurations.

The NPS Extension allows organizations to add a second authentication factor, such as one-time passwords or push notifications, to existing RADIUS-based workflows without replacing the NPS infrastructure. It supports PAP authentication in both Access-Request and Access-Challenge modes, with verification handled by the central SAS platform.

The LSA agent facilitates the integration of SAS with existing corporate directories, including Microsoft Active Directory and FreeIPA. It operates in read-only mode to import user and group structures into the SAS environment. This allows companies to maintain their current infrastructure while implementing centralized multi-factor authentication.
