MetaDAO has rebranded its fundraising platform Futardio to Backable. The service operates on the Solana blockchain and allows founders to raise capital from global supporters without a centralized vetting process.
The platform currently reports $44,2 million in total commitments from 2,407 backers, with a median contribution of approximately $500. To date, the system has facilitated twelve successful fundraising campaigns totaling roughly $728,000.
Backable implements specific financial safeguards for investors. Capital is held in escrow rather than transferred directly to project teams. Furthermore, funded teams are subject to monthly budget limits, and the platform offers full refunds if a fundraising campaign fails to reach its goal.
MetaDAO, which first launched in November 2023, originally focused on futarchy and prediction markets for governance. The project has since expanded its scope to include this community-supported capital formation framework, shifting the responsibility of due diligence entirely to the individual backers.
