Meta launched its AI assistant Muse on September 8, 2026, in the US. The application has achieved over 2.5 million downloads and is available on iOS, Android, WhatsApp, and via its web interface. The service offers three pricing tiers: a free version, a subscription at $20 per month, and a premium tier at $100 per month.

For flight bookings, Muse utilizes a direct API integration with Duffel, providing access to inventory from more than 500 airlines. In contrast, hotel and car rental bookings are processed through browser automation, where the AI navigates consumer sites like Expedia and Hotels.com as an automated user.

While Meta and Expedia Group expanded their collaboration in May 2026, that agreement focused on social advertising and conversational experiences within ad feeds, rather than the automated browsing currently used by Muse. No formal partnership for the assistant's booking flow has been announced.

Muse operates tasks within isolated virtual machines to ensure privacy, utilizing one-time-use cards for payments. Meta's platforms reported approximately 3.6 billion daily active users in the second quarter of 2026, providing the assistant with a significant distribution advantage for travel bookings.
