Meta has announced a leadership change, appointing Tucker Bounds as the new head of communications. Bounds has been with the company for over a decade and previously worked on political campaigns, including John McCain’s 2008 presidential bid and Meg Whitman’s 2010 gubernatorial run.

David Ginsberg, who previously led research on user behavior and platform effects, is transitioning to a new role within the Meta Superintelligence Labs (MSL). This division consolidates the company’s artificial intelligence research and development efforts.

The company continues to invest heavily in its AI infrastructure, with reported investments in Scale AI reaching $14.3 billion. This shift follows a period of organizational restructuring that included significant layoffs in 2022 and 2023, followed by selective hiring throughout 2025 and 2026.

Meta is currently managing various regulatory and reputational challenges, including concerns regarding privacy, content moderation, and the impact of social platforms on younger users. The leadership shuffle is intended to support the company’s strategic focus on artificial intelligence.
