Meta has introduced Muse, an AI-powered assistant designed to automate productivity tasks such as email management, online shopping, and trip planning. The tool operates via a cloud-based virtual computer and requires integration with third-party services like Gmail and Amazon.
During testing, the assistant successfully cleared thousands of promotional emails from a Gmail inbox and processed specific product purchases on Amazon. The tool also features capabilities for generating AI podcasts, images, videos, and interactive documents known as artifacts.
Muse demonstrated the ability to generate images featuring Apple branding, including depictions of foldable phones and wearables, though it refused to create images of the company's CEO. The assistant also generated news feeds based on user interests and location data.
The AI agent retrieves detailed user data through Instagram and Facebook APIs, including specific personal interests that are not explicitly visible in the standard user interface. Meta states that Muse only exchanges necessary data with third-party apps and does not share information with advertisers.
