Meta has integrated its AI assistant, Muse, with Plaid to provide access to over 12,000 financial institutions in the United States. The tool allows the AI to read account balances, transaction histories, and investment holdings to provide financial guidance.

The integration is strictly read-only, and every action requires explicit user approval. Users can track spending patterns, monitor savings goals, and view investment portfolios directly through the assistant without switching between multiple applications.

Muse operates within a dedicated secure virtual machine to ensure data privacy. Users retain full control over which accounts to connect and can revoke access at any time. The assistant is available on iOS, Android, the web, and WhatsApp for US users aged 18 and older.

The service offers three pricing tiers: a free basic version, a plan for $20 per month, and a premium tier for $100 per month. Meta also recently launched a developer platform to support additional connectors and retail partnerships.
