Meta and Microsoft are scaling back their reliance on Anthropic’s Claude AI models. Both companies are shifting their focus toward expanding their own internal artificial intelligence development capabilities.

Microsoft has reduced its projected spending on Anthropic by more than one-third. Meanwhile, Meta has seen the user base for Claude Code among its employees drop by half as staff migrate to the company’s proprietary AI tools.

Despite these changes, Microsoft continues to offer access to Anthropic’s Claude through its enterprise-grade platforms. The industry is now closely watching how these shifts in tool adoption will impact Anthropic’s market position and future commercial partnerships.
