Mercedes-Benz is experiencing high demand for its all-electric CLA and GLC models, resulting in a six-month delivery lead time. Customers placing orders now should expect vehicle arrival by April 2027. To address this, the Accumotive battery plant in Kamenz has been operating on a three-shift, six-day-a-week schedule since June.

Data from market researcher Dataforce indicates that the electric CLA has recorded over 71,000 registrations since its September 2025 launch, averaging 5,400 units monthly. This performance surpasses the predecessor combustion model, which averaged 3,500 registrations in Europe between 2021 and 2024. In September 2026, the electric GLC reached nearly 7,400 registrations across Europe.

The Mercedes-Benz Group reported 78,100 battery electric vehicle (BEV) sales in the third quarter of 2026, a 24 percent increase over the second quarter and a 52 percent rise year-over-year. Electric vehicles accounted for 16.8 percent of the company's passenger car deliveries in the last three months, up from 9.6 percent in the second quarter of 2025.

According to sales board member Mathias Geisen, the company achieved its highest quarterly sales of all-electric vehicles to date. The electric GLC saw sales triple compared to the second quarter. While production of the GLC previously faced component shortages in Bremen, current output for both the CLA and GLC is now meeting demand levels.
