Vladimir Mesropyan, Director for Government Relations at MegaFon, stated that the current hype surrounding artificial intelligence is becoming embarrassing. According to his remarks at the Digital Solutions forum in Moscow, the technology has already integrated into the daily routines of both businesses and individuals, moving beyond the status of a revolutionary novelty.
Mesropyan compared the current interest in generative models to the introduction of Microsoft Office suites in the late 1980s and early 1990s. While those tools were initially perceived as revolutionary, they eventually became standard business instruments. He noted that AI-driven image and video generation, as well as language models, are following a similar path toward becoming mundane tools.
Despite downplaying the revolutionary nature of AI, the company acknowledges its significant economic impact. MegaFon reports that the implementation of AI technologies allows for a multi-fold increase in business efficiency. The company continues to monitor technological limitations and actively seeks new approaches to optimize its internal business processes.
