Mecka.ai, a startup based in New York and Toronto, secured $60 million in a Series B funding round led by Sequoia Capital. The company aims to develop an internet-scale dataset for training robots. The round, announced on October 7, 2026, attracted new investors including NVIDIA, Microsoft's M12, Qualcomm Ventures, and Samsung, alongside existing backers such as Framework Ventures, Kindred Ventures, and Neo.

Individual investors, including Tony Xu, Frank Slootman, and Milan Kovac, also participated in the financing. While the company did not disclose its post-money valuation, previous reports suggested a figure near $500 million. To date, Mecka has raised a total of $128 million across three funding rounds, including an $8 million seed round in August 2025 and a $60 million Series A.

The company, which employs between 40 and 60 people, reported an annual run-rate revenue exceeding $100 million as of June 2026, with expectations to reach $300 million by the end of the year. Mecka specializes in collecting egocentric data—footage and motion captured from a first-person perspective—using body sensors, smartphones, and specialized hardware in real-world settings.

Mecka processes this data through its internal lab, which focuses on motion tracking and 3D reconstruction to convert video into spatial information. The company has developed a dataset named EgoVerse, intended for developers of humanoid robots and embodied AI. Founders Josh Gao, Jason Chong, Mogen Cheng, and Duy Nguyen lead the startup as it works to bridge the gap between human motion and machine execution.
