London-based Mantic has secured $25 million in a seed funding round. The investment was led by Radical Ventures, with participation from Microsoft’s M12 fund, Thinking Machines Lab, and Balderton Capital. Following the deal, Aaron Rosenberg from Radical Ventures joined the startup's board of directors.

Founded in 2024 by former Google DeepMind researchers, Mantic specializes in judgmental forecasting. The system analyzes complex scenarios in business, geopolitics, and technology rather than relying solely on historical data. The company adapts existing AI models for these tasks instead of building foundation models from scratch.

The startup gained recognition after its system outperformed all human competitors in the 2026 Metaculus Cup. During the tournament, the AI demonstrated an ability to deviate from consensus predictions, such as correctly forecasting the outcome of the Colombian presidential election and specific music chart trends.

Mantic is currently targeting government agencies and financial institutions, including hedge funds and trading firms. While the company has not disclosed specific client names, investors note that the technology is already being deployed by some organizations to gain a competitive edge in decision-making.
