Italian insurtech startup Mama Insurance has closed a new funding round led by Fastweb+Vodafone, with participation from Founders Factory. This capital injection follows an initial investment made in 2025, pushing the company's total funding beyond €2 million. The financing structure includes equity, bank debt, and public funding from national and regional programs.
The deal strengthens the partnership between Mama Insurance and Fastweb+Vodafone, focusing on AI development and digital customer experience. Mama Insurance operates an AI-native platform designed to simplify the insurance purchasing process. Users can obtain quotes and buy modular policies in under two minutes. The company currently focuses on home insurance, with underwriting provided by the global group Chubb.
The startup distributes its products through a direct digital platform, a network of brokers, and partnerships with consumer brands. With the fresh capital, the company intends to expand into new personal insurance lines and develop offerings for Italian SMEs. Founder and CEO Leonida Fini Zarri stated that the long-term goal is to protect customers across various life and business needs.
