Meta, Tesla, Netflix, and SpaceX are scheduled to release their quarterly financial results this Tuesday and Wednesday. Nasdaq estimates the combined market value of Meta, Tesla, and Netflix at approximately $3.6 trillion. Investors are currently focused on how these companies justify their significant capital expenditures on artificial intelligence.
Meta has outlined plans for equipment and data center spending between $130 billion and $145 billion for 2026. In the second quarter, the company reported $31.1 billion in spending, resulting in $784 million of free cash flow. Additionally, Meta anticipates a legal charge of roughly $10 billion this quarter related to an $18 billion settlement.
SpaceX reported spending $18.4 billion in the second quarter, with $15.8 billion allocated to AI, resulting in a loss of $541 million. Despite this, the company claims its AI unit generated an adjusted profit of $1.1 billion. SpaceX is reportedly seeking $40 billion in debt to finance further chip acquisitions from Nvidia.
Tesla delivered 486,532 vehicles in the recent period. In July, the company reported earnings of $0.33 per share, missing the $0.55 estimate as margins declined. Analysts now expect earnings of $0.21 per share for the current period. Meanwhile, SpaceX aims to reach an annual recurring revenue of over $100 billion by December.
Netflix has provided a revenue forecast of $12.86 billion, with approximately $3 billion projected from advertising sales in 2026. Market participants are observing whether these companies can meet performance expectations, following a trend where strong financial reports have recently failed to boost stock prices.
