Lookout Inc. has introduced Social Engineering Protection, a security module designed to identify fraudulent text messages and voice calls. The tool monitors mobile communications to prevent employees from disclosing sensitive credentials or funds to attackers using generative AI.

The module consists of three main features. The first component, smishing protection, scans SMS, MMS, and Rich Communication Services on iOS and Android devices for malicious links and suspicious intent. The second feature analyzes live calls and voicemails, using transcription to detect scam patterns and verifying if a voice has been synthetically cloned.

The third component evaluates phone number attributes and identity signals to assess risk levels. Administrators can manage these settings and block suspicious numbers across their entire organization through a centralized console. The software functions as a native add-on to the existing Mobile AI Security Platform.

This release expands the company's Mobile AI Security Platform, which previously added AI Visibility and Governance in April and the Mobile Software Exposure Center in July. Lookout has been integrating large language models into its security stack since the launch of Smishing AI in September of last year.
