Lola Vision Systems, founded in 2024 by Tayo Adesanya, develops software and semiconductor chips designed to run AI models on edge devices. The company's core product is a compiler toolchain that translates AI models into instructions for specific hardware, aiming to automate a process that can otherwise take around 200 hours of manual setup.
The startup, based in Washington, D.C., seeks to provide an alternative to existing solutions like Nvidia's Jetson modules. According to Adesanya, current industry solutions often suffer from high power consumption and performance limitations when handling medium to large AI models, which can lead to reliability issues in critical sectors like aerospace.
Lola Vision has secured over $1 million in total funding to date. The company has signed one customer and holds letters of interest from a dozen other corporate clients. To generate revenue before its own chips are ready, the startup plans to license its software for use on existing hardware.
The company has partnered with SCALE, a microelectronics workforce development program, to collaborate with semiconductor labs. Lola Vision was also selected for the TechCrunch Battlefield 200 program, which highlights emerging startups within the technology ecosystem.
