The developer released version 3.0.3 of the librats library, designed for building distributed P2P applications and streaming services. The library enables direct user connection and data exchange without intermediaries, utilizing mDNS and DHT Mainline protocols for automated peer discovery.

The updated version features a custom QUIC-like protocol over UDP. Key technical improvements include the integration of BBRv3 for congestion control, the implementation of forward error correction (FEC), and enhanced NAT traversal capabilities. A new rendezvous module has been added to support auxiliary servers that improve network connectivity.

The library currently supports C, C++, Java for Android, Python, and Node.js. It serves as the foundation for several projects, including the rats-search torrent engine, the rasync file synchronization tool, and the ratcast streaming platform. Additionally, the library is reportedly utilized by the UltraVNC client.
