Ledger is currently investigating reports of fund losses among users in Southeast Asia who purchased hardware wallets from the reseller CryptoBilis. The company has instructed the reseller to suspend all sales and shipments of its devices while the inquiry is ongoing.

The manufacturer advises customers who bought devices from CryptoBilis within the last 90 days to refrain from setting them up. Those who have already initialized their wallets are encouraged to transfer assets to a new device with a fresh seed phrase to ensure security.

While Ledger has not confirmed the total amount of losses or the number of affected users, independent investigator Specter estimates the theft at over $87 million. Data from Arkham indicates that the identified addresses contain approximately $42 million in ETH, $17.6 million in BTC, and $16.5 million in USDT.

The investigation into the potential compromise of devices before they reach buyers remains active. Ledger has not yet verified if all reported thefts are directly linked to the reseller, and no specific tampering with the hardware has been officially confirmed at this stage.
