Ledger has announced Atom, a new hardware device based on the Android operating system. The company describes the product as a signer, a term it now uses instead of hardware wallet to emphasize cryptographic functions. The device is designed to pair with a user's primary smartphone to approve transactions.

The company has not yet disclosed technical specifications, pricing, or release dates for the Atom. Ledger is currently managing the aftermath of a supply-chain security incident in Southeast Asia, where unauthorized hardware implants were discovered in devices sold by third-party resellers.

These tampered units were capable of reading recovery phrases during setup and transmitting them via LTE. Suspected losses from the incident are estimated at over $86 million, involving assets such as Bitcoin and Ethereum, though Ledger has not independently verified this total.

In response to the security breach, Ledger suspended sales and shipments in Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Hong Kong as of mid-October 2026. The company has yet to announce when these operations will resume.
