King Charles III convened an AI forum at Dumfries House in Scotland on September 17. The event gathered key industry figures to discuss the governance and ethical implications of artificial intelligence technologies.

The meeting was attended by Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, OpenAI CFO Sarah Friar, and Google DeepMind co-founder Demis Hassabis. Other participants included representatives from Anthropic and Kanishka Narayan, the UK Minister for AI.

The King addressed the executives with two primary inquiries regarding the safe implementation of AI and the necessity of international cooperation to ensure global inclusivity. He emphasized the importance of maintaining human control over technological development.

The discussion also touched upon the environmental impact of the industry. King Charles III has previously highlighted concerns regarding the high energy consumption of data centers and the reliance of some tech companies on fossil fuels.
