Keychron has introduced the Carbon 60 HE 8K, a 60% form factor gaming keyboard featuring a forged carbon fiber case and keycaps. The device utilizes the same internal architecture and tray-mounted design as the company's Q16 HE 8K model. The keyboard is currently available for purchase through the official Keychron online store at a price of $234.99.
The keyboard includes a carbon fiber composite plate and keycaps, with the overall construction containing 60% carbon fiber. According to the manufacturer, this material composition makes the structure 10 times more rigid than standard plastic alternatives. The design provides a distinct typing feel characterized by a sharp, clacky signature with minimal cushioning or bounce.
The Carbon 60 HE 8K follows a compact 60% layout, omitting the number pad, function row, arrow keys, and navigation cluster. Users can access these functions via layers or configure them using the Keychron Launcher software. The device weighs 740 g, which is significantly lighter than the 1,650 g aluminum Q2 HE 8K, positioning it as a portable option for gaming setups.
