Kevin O’Leary stated that Bitcoin could reach a price of $1 million, provided the industry successfully addresses the threat of quantum computing, referred to as Q-Day. This term describes a theoretical scenario where quantum technology could compromise the encryption securing Bitcoin wallets.

O’Leary has shifted his investment strategy regarding blockchain platforms. He no longer believes Ethereum will be the sole standard, suggesting instead that industries will adopt specific blockchains based on the preferences of major exchanges. He also noted that the SEC recently introduced an Innovation Exemption for trading tokenized stocks.

Regarding his broader portfolio, O’Leary maintains a rule of limiting any single stock to 5% and any sector to 20%. He views the digitization of assets as a potential 12th sector of the S&P. His crypto holdings have reached up to 23% of his portfolio over the last seven years.

In the AI sector, O’Leary is focusing on energy infrastructure rather than individual models. His investments include BitZero, a power company with operations in Norway, Finland, Alberta, and Utah. Additionally, he has initiated a position in uranium to support next-generation nuclear reactors for data centers.

O’Leary does not anticipate that the Clarity Act, which aims to clarify regulatory oversight for crypto trading, will progress before the upcoming midterm elections. He expects that bipartisan discussions on the legislation will resume only after the elections are concluded.
