The Astana International Financial Centre court has issued injunctions against six cryptocurrency platforms, prohibiting them from providing digital-asset services in the jurisdiction without proper licensing. The court order also mandates that Apple and Google implement geographic restrictions to limit access to these platforms through their respective app stores.
The legal action follows lawsuits filed by the Astana Financial Services Authority against operators for unauthorized service provision. The initial list of platforms included BingX, Bitcoin.com, Huobi Global, BitMart, Coinbase, LBank, and WEEX. LBank was subsequently removed from the order after its operator restricted access to users in Kazakhstan.
The regulator noted that users of unlicensed platforms lack protections such as asset security, complaint handling, and dispute resolution mechanisms. According to AFSA CEO Evgeniya Bogdanova, the decision follows consistent enforcement efforts to address platforms advertising and operating without required permissions within the country.
In 2025, the AFSA issued warnings to over 20 platforms regarding local regulations. While nine platforms voluntarily restricted access, leading the regulator to withdraw claims against them, seven others expressed intentions to pursue licenses. The current injunctions remain in effect for the remaining six platforms.
