Seattle-based startup Kapta Space has secured $24 million in a Series A funding round. This investment brings the company's total capital raised to $30 million since its establishment in 2022.
The financing round was led by Washington Harbour Partners and Bison Ventures. Additional participants included MetaVC Partners, MYDA Advisors, Entrada Ventures, Aurelia Foundry, and Fitz Gate Ventures.
The company plans to use the new funds to produce low-cost moving target indication radar payloads. These systems are intended to support classified missions secured by the firm this year.
Kapta Space is currently working on two demonstration missions. The company expects to establish flight heritage for its technology within the next 24 to 36 months.
The radar payload utilizes a proprietary electronic steering architecture designed to track targets across land, air, and sea. The system aims to offer lower costs and reduced complexity compared to active electronically scanned arrays.
