Prediction market platform Kalshi reported a significant increase in user activity, with US web traffic reaching 15.4 million visits in July 2026. This represents a growth of approximately 1,520% compared to the less than 1 million visits recorded in August 2025.

The platform's monthly notional trading volume reached $40 billion in August 2026, marking a 4,500% increase from $874 million a year prior. Kalshi currently holds nearly 79% of the total monthly volume within the prediction market industry, which reached $50.7 billion.

Legal scrutiny regarding Kalshi's business model has intensified, particularly concerning sports contracts that represented 83% of its trading volume in July. The dispute over whether these contracts fall under federal oversight or state gambling laws has reached the US Supreme Court.

Traffic from Canada and the UK also grew, reaching 450,000 and 296,000 visits respectively in July 2026. Despite this, Kalshi's member agreement prohibits direct access in these regions, though the company partnered with Wealthsimple in June to offer access to contracts via a separate app.
