JPMorgan’s equity strategy team, led by Dubravko Lakos-Bujas, suggests that market concerns regarding AI disruption in the software sector are exaggerated. Analysts believe the recent sell-off of tech stocks presents a buying opportunity for investors focusing on high-quality companies.
The bank projects a 16.8% annual profit growth for the software industry by 2026. Experts highlight that established firms benefit from high switching costs and long-term contracts, which make it difficult for clients to replace existing platforms with new AI alternatives.
Microsoft and CrowdStrike were identified as potential beneficiaries of the AI shift. Microsoft continues to integrate AI into its products through its partnership with OpenAI, while CrowdStrike utilizes AI to enhance its core cybersecurity offerings.
JPMorgan’s 2026 research also highlights semiconductors and AI infrastructure as sectors with significant upside potential, noting that semiconductor stocks have reached oversold conditions. Other institutions, such as Morgan Stanley, share a positive outlook on the US tech sector.
