Japanese auctions now offer left-hand drive premium vehicles, including models from Mercedes-Benz and Lamborghini. These cars are often imported into Japan from Europe or the US, or were originally sold there as status symbols. Due to limited local demand for left-hand drive units, their prices can be significantly lower than those found in markets like South Korea.

For instance, a diesel Mercedes-Benz G 400d imported from Japan can cost around 13 ₽ million, which is approximately one-third cheaper than similar models from other regions. In some cases, the price difference compared to South Korean imports reaches 6 ₽–7 million, while for other premium brands, the savings typically range between 1 ₽ million and 2 ₽ million.

The import process follows standard auction procedures, where intermediaries select lots based on client specifications. Delivery times vary based on export restrictions. Direct shipments to Vladivostok take about one month, while vehicles with engines larger than 1.9 liters must transit through third countries, such as South Korea, extending delivery to approximately two months.

Once vehicles arrive in Vladivostok, additional time is required for customs clearance and domestic logistics. Transporting a car by truck to central regions of Russia takes approximately two weeks. Experts note that seeking budget-friendly left-hand drive cars in Japan is generally ineffective, as such inventory is concentrated almost exclusively in the premium segment.
