Students from ITMO University have developed a prototype called Avito AI Reviewer, designed to assist experts in evaluating educational assignments for Avito. The tool is intended to automate the initial review process, including the analysis of code, technical solutions, and product task breakdowns submitted by students.
The system assigns tasks to reviewers based on their specialization and current workload. It compares student submissions against predefined criteria, highlights potential issues, and generates draft feedback. The final grade remains the responsibility of the human expert, who reviews the AI's findings before making a decision.
Internal testing shows that the service processes one assignment in approximately 82.9 seconds at a cost of about 0.41 ₽ per run. Currently, Avito experts spend between 5 and 10 hours per week on manual grading, a duration the company aims to reduce through this automation.
The development team will continue to refine the prototype throughout the semester. The project will undergo further testing on live educational cohorts in collaboration with Avito to evaluate its effectiveness in a real-world learning environment.
