Isar Aerospace, founded in 2018 in Munich, aims to compete in the small satellite launch market against companies like SpaceX and Rocket Lab. The company's Spectrum rocket is a two-stage liquid-fuel vehicle measuring approximately 28 meters in height.

The company has experienced setbacks, including a failed first test flight that ended in a crash in the Norwegian Sea. The second launch attempt has also faced multiple delays due to technical checks, weather conditions, and system anomalies.

The mission will take place at the Andøya Spaceport in northern Norway. A successful launch would make Spectrum the first commercial launch vehicle to reach orbit from European soil, establishing a European independent commercial launch system.
