Irkutsk Aviation Plant plans to reach a production rate of one MS-21 aircraft every 40 calendar days by 2027. According to CEO Andrey Soynov, the facility intends to further reduce this production cycle over time. The plant is currently processing a significant volume of work-in-progress units and integrating previously assembled aircraft at various stages of completion into the production flow.

The MS-21 is a medium-haul passenger aircraft designed to carry up to 211 passengers. It is intended to replace the Tu-154 and Tu-204 families in the Russian market, while also serving as an alternative to foreign-made jets. The company expects to complete all certification procedures for the aircraft by mid-2027.

Additionally, the manufacturer has begun producing components for a new, shortened version of the MS-21. The first flight for this specific variant is currently scheduled for August 2028.
